Participate in Social/Educational Events...

By working together, individuals and organizations can provide the community with crucial social venues. Much research has indicated that the first initiative in improving a community is to enhance social opportunities for people (Tomison 1999). Hence the design of the Promoting Community Assets (PCA) campaign as a framework for community leaders to come together and promote wellbeing and resiliency.

PCA is the identification and communication of the key assets in a geographic area to increase knowledge of resources, educate residents about balance and wellbeing, promote a positive community self-image, and establish sustainable community education and celebration events.

Use the Calendar of Events to search for training, educational/social events, celebrations, and team meetings.  Likewise, if you are hosting an event or training session, use the calendar to promote your activities and to register participants.

Wellbeing Action Teams

Wellbeing Action Teams are designed to set joint goals that will enhance social opportunities, nurture community spirit, and increase awareness of initiatives and educational programs in the wellbeing areas.

Service Projects

Take first steps in building collaborative action plans and generating excitement about positive change, by getting involved with service projects that have high visibility.

Politics

It is not as hard as you think.  Get involved in politics to help make a difference in your community.

Let your voice be heard!  Check for opportunities to provide feedback about your local community or schools.  This information will be shared with organizations and businesses as they make decisions about programming and services for the Arlington Area.

Community Council of Wellbeing

The purpose of the Community Council of Wellbeing is to establish, monitor, and maintain a balance in the 7 Areas of Wellbeing. Designed to include stakeholders from nonprofits, forprofits, faithbased, schools, government agencies, and the community at-large, the council works as a Collective Leadership model.
